    Senior DevOps / SRE Engineer (Contract) · Remote, Worldwide

    • Deliver DevOps, SRE and platform-engineering engagements for Mercor's AI and high-growth tech clients, running live production where reliability, scale and cost are critical.
    • Design Kubernetes-based AI infrastructure on hardened Linux GPU nodes with Terraform, Ansible and AWS: kernel, driver and container-runtime tuning, GitOps pipelines, GPU-aware placement and autoscaling for inference and batch workloads.
    • Build production LLM and agent platforms using RAG, vector databases, vLLM / Ollama and MCP integrations, with model-serving controls, runbooks and deployment guardrails.
    • Develop platform automation, self-service tooling and SRE practice in Go, Python and Bash with Prometheus, Grafana and OpenTelemetry, standardising releases and improving incident response and reliability.

    Senior Systems Development Engineer · Sydney, NSW, Australia

    • Spearheaded automation and deployment of large-scale telecom and data centre infrastructure, bringing platform-engineering discipline to latency-sensitive, high-availability production.
    • Automated the Linux estate end to end: bare-metal provisioning, image builds, patching, CIS-style hardening and drift control with Ansible, keeping RHEL / Ubuntu hosts consistent and compliant.
    • Built Go and Python platform tooling integrating APIs, GitLab/GitHub, Jenkins, NetBox DCIM (racks, power, cabling, IPAM), MongoDB and Redis, making NetBox the source of truth for data centre provisioning and self-service.
    • Operated Kubernetes clusters orchestrating up to 2,000 Docker containers with autoscaling, self-healing, service discovery and Calico networking for high-demand workloads.
    • Strengthened observability and delivery with Icinga2, Prometheus, Grafana, OpenSearch, HashiVault and InfluxDB for SLO-style monitoring, and Helm/Kustomize, RBAC and AWS (EC2, Lambda, S3) for consistent, isolated releases.

    • Ran operations across multiple data centres, including NEXTDC and Global Switch: rack-and-stack, structured cabling, power and cooling budgets, hardware lifecycle and remote-hands, plus firewalls, SANs, switching, VLANs, BGP, SD-WAN and 2,000+ VoIP/PBX clients.
    • Built and administered a large Linux server fleet (RHEL/CentOS, Debian/Ubuntu) on bare metal and KVM/VMware: kernel and network tuning, LVM/RAID storage, systemd services, patching and security hardening.
    • Automated Kubernetes HA clusters with Ansible and led a comprehensive Azure/AWS cloud-migration strategy delivering cost savings and resilience.
    • Introduced Terraform IaC, Jenkins CI/CD and Grafana/Prometheus observability and led and mentored the IT team in these practices, lifting uptime and cutting time-to-resolution.
