Solutions architecture & leadership

Solutions architecture and technical leadership

Architecture that starts from the business problem, and hands-on leadership that leaves teams stronger than they were.

What I do

  • Architecture reviews of existing platforms, with prioritised risk and cost findings
  • Target-state designs and staged migration plans
  • Build-versus-buy analysis and open-source evaluation
  • Leading cross-functional teams across network, systems, platform and development
  • Mentoring engineers in infrastructure as code, CI/CD and observability
  • Documentation, runbooks and handover that outlast the engagement

How I approach it

Good architecture is mostly about trade-offs made explicit. I write down the options, the costs and the risks, recommend one, and make it easy for the people who will run the system to challenge it.

Leadership, for me, is technical. I stay hands-on, set standards by example and invest in the people who will own the system after I am gone.
